Welcome to How a Movie Is Made!

The Mission of this website is three fold. First, to provide information about what actually goes into making a movie. Second, give practical tips and techniques to help you make your movies even better. And Third, give thoughts and insight on attitudes towards film making.

The average movie goer knows relatively little about what it takes to get a movie from concept to screen.  It’s a big process that requires a lot of work and I want to make that information easily available to anyone who wants to know. I know sometimes that information can be hard to find so I wanted to bring that to you so you don’t have to dig as deep to get the information you want.

With the boom of new media (online video) it’s easier and easier for content to be created but to be completely honest the quality of the content being posted is sub-par and there are many very simple practices that can make your videos and films better, I’ll be handing out practical working advice as well as film theory taken from the masters. So if you follow along you’ll be getting the full package of information.

Anyone who has dealt with film makers in any amount knows that we are (for lack of better words) unique. Basically there are attitudes and egos at work constantly and if filmmakers can’t reign them in it can cause a lot of problems with other people. Since I see a lot of people at work I can see situations from another perspective, and that can help resolve issues.

My goal for the site is to have it become a resource for film makers, somewhere you can come to when you have a question or concerns. A place to share interesting and inspiring storied from the world of film making. Thank you for coming by.
